The Czech-Moravian Breeders‿ Corporation (ČMSCH)

The Czech-Moravian Breeders‿ Corporation was established by privatization of the State Breeding Enterprise to November 1st, 1996.
The Czech-Moravian Breeders‿ Corporation is in the ownership of breeding associations. The activities are oriented mainly on objective activities for state demands and for breeding associations.
The ČMSCH ensures:
- central evidence of domestic animals according to the EU requirements
- we arrange distribution and identification of ear tags
- methodological leading, publication of results and development of performance and progeny test methods (calculation of breeding values, ICAR and INTERBULL membership)
- laboratories for milk analyses
- by help of modern technology our labs determine fat, protein and lactose contents, somatic cell account, possibly urea and dry matter contents
- immunogenetics laboratory
- international authorized lab for paternity tests in domestic animals (bloodtyping, DNA tests)
- we determine the carrier of genetically based MHS syndrome in pigs or BLAD syndrome in cattle
- we determine kappa-casein type and can test sex of bovine embryos
- technical leading of Herd-Book for Czech Simmental Cattle and Holstein-Friesian Cattle
- development and operation of embryo transfer
- we carry out flushing and long-term deep freezing of embryos, possibly transfer of bovine, ovine and caprine embryos
- we carry out early pregnancy diagnostics by ultrasound
- service activities of semen bank
- we offer bull semen and embryos of inland and imported dams, including beef breeds
- purchase and sale of breeding and commercial animals
- delivery of technical aids and material for artificial insemination and other activities for breeding organizations and farmers
- advisory service in livestock improvement and breeding work
- contacting of representatives of breeders and processing industry
